The high quality of the presentations that we have at the iMoot is what keeps both presenters and attendees coming back year after year. If you are new to presenting at an iMoot - don't worry, you'll get help and guidance from the team to make sure everything runs smoothly.

To submit a presentation proposal please select the 'Add Entry' tab below. We'll do the rest, and get back to you to confirm whether it has been accepted.

Sessions for the iMoot are to be a maximum of 45 minutes long including question time.

If you can not see the 'Add Entry' tab, either you haven't set up an account on the site, or the call for presentations has closed.

Thanks!

Speech Recognition in Moodle

Content Type: Online Teaching and Course Creation

Language: English

Description of Presentation

In this presentation we will demonstrate a powerful speech recognition plugin that can be used by Moodle users for pronunciation improvement. The plugin is backed by advanced machine learning algorithms that provide word, syllable and phoneme level feedback on the user's speech sample. Such feedback pinpoints the user's exact mistakes thereby speeding up their learning process.

The plugin is available as a Moodle question type and allows teachers to create custom pronunciation training material. Teachers have used this plugin to create pronunciation improvement courses for hospitality, aviation, nursing and university level students.

You may try the plugin on our site here: SpeechAce plugin for Moodle
